Yes, but it's also used in 2D programs, and it's the exact translation.

Yes, in the same way as "noise" on english.... :) Today it used very
often related to vision, like for example the "noise" of TV not tuned.
(Si, de la misma forma que "noise" en ingles... :) Hoy en dia se usa
muy amenudo relacionado con la vision, como por ejemplo en "ruido" de
una TV sin sintonizar.)
