I wanted to test out this little bit from an article in the Bridges archive:

because the concept of making a dodecahedron with an isosurface was intriguing.

max gradient is rather high (300,000) and the threshold is set to 1

a and b both range from 0 to 1

An interesting result!
Have you tried to scale the isosurfaces in order to have an intersection 
of each of them (just to obtain a curious wallpaper)?
