I finally got tired of nearly going blind and so I added "Stylus" extension to
my Brave browser.

Open the newsgroups, click on the extension icon, choose "write CSS"
view povray page source, click on the css file, copy the code, paste into Stylus
pane.  change a:visited by clicking on colored square, change color to whatever
you want.

Click save.

Done.

Apparently works on Chrome and Opera.   Similar things are available for
Firefox.
