Hi all,
I was playing around with some shapes from the insert menu, and noticed that the
"ring sphere" isn't constructed the way I'd expect - the horizontal and vertical
rings are at different radii, and so don't intersect perfectly.
I didn't have time to dig into it (son's first day at new school today, me back
at work) but was wondering if someone could confirm it's an actual issue rather
than just an[other] error on my end.
One thing I've noticed about the insert menu is that some of it rather
fragmented, and they don't always mesh well.
There's shapes.inc, shapes2.inc, and shapes3.inc, and using some of those shapes
requires a "sub-shape" from another include file, that the shape's include file
doesn't include - so you get an error, and have to include it manually.
In the past, I've gone through the analytical geometry include file, but haven't
finished - perhaps someone could translate some of Friederich's comments in
German to English, because I think i need a little more than a simple literal
translation to understand what he's doing with some of the similar macros.
With an eye towards editing and fixing any errors or other issues in such files
that are included with the standard distribution, I was wondering if there ought
to be some sort of internal documentation in the include files and example
scenes.
I have a large spreadsheet of data at work, andone of things I've started doing
is marking which data has been checked and verified as correct, and the date and
who it was verified by.
Maybe the files included with POV-Ray could have some sort of header for each
macro / shape / whatever with version, checked by, date information, etc.
