Is it just me, or is the way the threads are sorted confusing?

I feel I miss things because the threads aren't sorted by time of last posted
message, so things sort of get buried below the point where I need to use the
scroll bar.

Use an NNTP client like Thunderbird and you can sort things however you
like. :)

Thanks!
I got it working - mostly. But it wants to email the poster, rather than reply
to the thread. I'm assuming there's a setting somewhere that I need to
change...

Thunderbird give you two option buttons, Reply and Followup.

Reply sends email to the individual poster, Followup sends it to the group.

Right-click some empty space near the "reply" button and select the only
entry in the pop-up menu (should be "customize..." or something like
that in the English version); throw out the standard "reply" button, and
keep (or add) the button probably called "smart reply".
