I've been out of POV for a few years and am wondering how things are going now.
What happened to the IRTC? Looks like someone is trying to bring it back.
Have we got compiles for the new multi-core machines? Got one for an 8 core Mac
Pro?
Was the smoke and fire problem ever solved? How about animated smoke and fire?
Where's all the old regulars? I can't be the last one, just can't, no way, not
me.
Ya'll have some really nice looking tree macros now. Congratulations!
How's the object library project coming? It was barely started when I dropped
out. Just had a few simple things in it.
How's the human figure work coming along? Have you gotten past that old Poser
look?
I don't recognize a single person in here. Howdy, ya'll. Are you young gun
Povvers or just a bunch of ol' pixel bandits?

I sort of disappeared for a while and now I'm back at least monitoring
the newsgroup. I don't do much POVRay work these days but I am working
at reviving the IRTC site.
There are many others around. I'm sure they'll chime in.

Greetings and welcome back. The name seems familiar but I haven't had
time to search the archives to check.
If you don't remember me, I'm one the elder brethren ;-)

finished," then he sat down.

Well the one at http://lib.povray.org/ only started November last year, so
I'm not sure that it would be the one you are referring to. Various earlier
ones seemed to falter because the moderators stopped processing new entries,
so this one is highly automated and can be contributed to by anyone who
cares to spend a few minutes registering.
It's currently only got 35 entries (though some are macros that generate
quite large sets of objects), so anything you've got would be welcome :-)
There's a new thumbnail view at
http://lib.povray.org/searchcollection/index2.php that shows all of the
current entries at a glance.
Regards,
Chris B.

Here's one of my oldies still hangin' around:

Is Ken Tyler still around? How about Chris Colefax? They helped me with this

Guess I qualify as an old regular. Been using POV since 1993 and was the POV
Resource Specialist on AOL for about 11 years until they dismantled the
Graphics forum. I went away for a while too, but now am back. Welcome back to
both of us.
