Does anyone have any experience with using their Povray Renderings in
Macromedia Products? In particular Macromedia Flash?
Their site is at
http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/
I’ve been constructing a Flash site for my page at
http://www.xenoplates.com (Flash site is 500 KiloByte)
Thanks for any tips and pointers.

Well..... I did some stuff with Flash some time ago. And some are games:
http://www.elje.net/games/sloyd/ and http://www.elje.net/games/sloydextreme/
and the game you can find at the !? part in the top menu of
http://www.trancactie.com/
Regards,
Apache
Why is this flash file this big!? I only use flash if it does at least two
out of the next two things:
1. less datatransfer --> faster website (think of vectorized logos or
stuff like that)
2. more simple to build --> cheaper for yourself/client (whenever you need
funky stuff for interactive tutorials with sound etc etc)
I used flash for menu at the left of http://www.magiciansdaughter.com/ just
because it was the easiest thing to do and the file is still very small.
(yes, the pyramid at the right is a result of some POV-Ray activities).
:P

This is one of the reasons why I asked for others with experience. Ideally
I'd like to keep a high quality rendering and still yeild a more efficient
web site. Most likely there will be a comprimise
Flash can vectorize (I haven't done it yet) bmp files and I'm sure there are
other tips and techniques to help.
Thanks
Tony
At http://chattyfig.figleaf.com/ you can subscribe to mailinglists for flash
users. Both beginners and advanced can find what they need there. (I have an
archive since March 2001 with at least 55803 unread(!) posts. I only read
what I need and I use it as a database that I can search with keywords when
I want to know something.)

Look into that. It's not that difficult, and it really helps the file size.
I've done it in the few flash things I've made.
