Why am i not surprised POV-Ray is not listed there...
But considering what you get with
http://www.google.com/search?q=realistic+water
it might not be so far fetched to also list POV-Ray in the selection of
3d software they consider related to rendering of realistic water...

Probably because the title is:
Survey for a Honours study about water animation and simulation with
COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE software.
POV is free, hence not commercially available. Another question I
had was: why then in this news group? and: what is a honours study?
