You may not be the last to notice it, but I was pretty surprised when I
finally found him to ask about POV-AFX 2.(*) (The web pages are pretty
much obsolete, I ended up doing a search on his name.)
Whether or not it is funny depends on your sense of humor.

You are welcome. :-)
(*)He said he abandoned that line of research and hasn't been doing
anything in POV since then, though he sounded interested in the Arnold
inspired radiosity experiments being done recently. He said he was
surprised anyone even remembered POV-AFX.

Shocking is more like it. :)

Tell him that we not only remember it, but revere it. Also, ask him to come
to the newsgroup and check out our efforts. (Maybe he could come back to POV
and work on the radiosity a bit? :)

I'm a little delighted to think that, maybe, if there was no POV-Ray to
play with at the time, maybe he would've never got that far !
So, thank who ? Thanks POV-Ray !!
BTW, I'm currently doing experiments with radiosity, using glow
as light sources (without real lights), and it's amazing !!
Fabien.

tell him his treachery has been spotted, and he's to stop playing with fancy
3dsmax render engines, stop thinking about the money (and the stacks of it
he could sell arnold for), and come back to povray. be a man ! do the right
thing !

Wrong - everyone needs food, water, shelter etc to live - In the current state of
affairs money can only get you these things - it is not a substitute for them.

And besides, paper money has no intrinsic value.

No, I'm sure it would work as toilet paper or kleenex. (Wallpaper,
perhaps?)

wallpaper would be cool maybe of money from all around the world to give
it a little color. i once saw a wall in an rustic style house covered
in old pennys. it was really cool. there were all gradations of
copper, and until you got a couple meters away, you couldn't tell they
were pennys. if you only think about it, it's a silly idea, but once
you see it, it's really cool.
