Hi,
maybe somone would be so kind to help me render for tomorrow (12 hours left
from now) part of an animation?

The scene files have
  a)  1 MB source
  b) 10 MB textures
  c) 10 MB .df3 textures (60 MB after decompression)
it contains of 192 frames

If someone could run render of some frames in time beetween 19:00 - 2:00 of
my timezone (GTM -2, GTM 17:00 - 0:00) and send results back to me, then
please email me at pov {@} raf256.com

I have a spare 2.4GHz/512MB computer, and I'll run on it min. 8 h render
for You, for every single frame that You will render today for me :)
I must give this animation rendered tommorow for my customer and therefore
the rush.

If you send me some files which I can decompress to a folder, including an
INI file or whatever so that I don't have to worry about properly setting
render options, I wouldn't mind rendering some for you (2.6ghz P4 w/ HT, 1GB
RAM). Get my email at http://www.slimeland.com/contact/ . I'm not sure how
to figure out the timezone stuff you said, though.

Must be GMT instead of GTM, which is Greenwich Meridian (or Mean) Time.
Current time can be easily located on the Internet.

As much as I'd like to help I probably couldn't handle the uploading to send
back a file, or files, very well. My dial-up connection won't remain open
for long periods of time.

Can approximate render times per frame be given? And are your files going to
be emailed, or available at a web site instead?

Time is short but I'd try it too if any chance at all.

Bob H.

Ok, thanks to Tim Nikias I found all (most?) bug's and the latest just-
download-and-run version is availalble on 2 mirros:

http://62.233.182.161/tmp/matrix/src!/lcd102-full.zip
http://www.raf256.com/mtrx!src/lcd102-full.zip
21 MB

*** run the __job_a.ini file AND set in it :

; vvv --- edit this --- vvv
Subset_End_Frame    = 192  ; SUB-JOB
Subset_Start_Frame  =  90  ; SUB-JOB
; ^^^ --- edit this --- ^^^

currently I have all 0..192 beeing rendered, but I need some assert in case
if any volenter or my PC failes, especialy frames

* 160 - 192
* 70 - 90
* any other frames, besides 0-50

Frames 1..100 are about 25 min / frame
100..150 are 10
150..190 are 5

on 2GHz, scene needs about 30-40 ram

Thanks :) but I'm afraid that downloading 21 MB file is not an option for
dialup. Currently, especialy if Slime will assert Tim's render I probably
will finish just in time :)

What file format should this be in? __job_a.ini doesn't specify one.

PNG is preferred.
140 to 192 are already sent.

I'm going to bed now, hence the short reply...

Regards,
Tim

Thanks, yes.

A-1 animation (room with monitors 192 frames) is almost done, there are 2
holes 70-80, 93-99 due to computers (or rather - internet connection)
failure. I'm fixing them now, but if someone can assert this.. :)

In about 1-2 h I would finish adjusting A-2 animation (green letters, big
zero "0" etc as posted before) it is longer but much easier to render. I
will have few hours (between ~6 - ~11 GTM) to render about 30*24 frames.

It will need one bigger aditional file (on 2 mirrors)
  http:\\62.233.182.161\tmp\matrix\src!\df3.zip
  http:\\www.raf256.com\mtrx!src\df3.zip
  3 mb
this file should be unzipped into \data2\df3\*.df3

I will post final matrix.pov and *.ini in about 1-2 h.
Interested persons - please email me (I dont want to trash this group)

I had emailed peoples from tihs topic, if any one else is willing to help
please write to me. I'll post resulting animation in .b.a probably
tomorrow.

Personaly I'm not fully satisfied with the effect, both aparts of animation
should have more details, be longer, and have better camera movment... but
as for ~1 weak time and having other things to do in same time, I think
it's not so bad after all
