Aero (http://www.aero-simulation.de) is a really cool little rigid body
mechanics simulation program, and it has old Povray output support. Only
problem is it's old, X-win only, and it tends to crash on my linux system
once in a while (Aero v1.7).

Christoph Hormann's physics work in POV is really awesome, but setting up
complex rigid body collisions in Povray's text editor is challenging. Aero
is very useful for setting up and testing a complex scene with rigid body
collisions.

Just wondering if anybody has come across a similar utility or a Windows
ported version of Aero, or if anyone can recommend a good mechanics
simulation program that would allow some sort of interfacing with Povray.

I've been thinking of a useful way of simulating rigid bodies. The best
results I've had was with very stiff spring models. And that's SLOWWWW.
