I'm just wondering - is this a designed behaviour of PovRay, or is this
some bug ?

I have model of simple "face" made from few spheres and spheresweep.

I have object that represent smile - objSmile. I'm using it to cut a hole
in main head shape. But bounding box of objSmile becames bounding box of
shape in with i'm cutting hole. Problem appears only when i use clipped_by,
bounded_by itself works correctly.

I will post images to represent problem into .b.i in few minutes.
Main code is :

union {
  difference { object{objSkull}  object{objSmile} }
  object { objEyes }
  object { objNose }
  object { objHorns }
}

when objSmile contains :
    clipped_by { box {<-.6,-.5,-1.5> <+.6,.2,-0.7>} }
    bounded_by { clipped_by }

then also objSkull is clipped by same box, with is NOT intended by me.

Clipped_by is tricky, so make sure to read the documentation very carefully.

Main part is not enough. You should know that a minimal scene is required.
