Does anyone know if the source for the "Persistance of Vision"
splash on the windows beta d/l page is available? I have searched
in the included scenes but nothing obvious caught my eye. Any help
would be welcome.

Just a small bit of confusion in my first post...
Let me try again.
On the D/L page http://www.povray.org/binaries/windows/beta.html
there is a rendered image of the phrase "Persistence of Vision".
I was looking for that source, not the opening splash for the program.
But thanks for the help anyway. If I have to build the phrase scene
myself I know where to find the "P".

Well, that's not exactly the splash screen, altough it's very easy to add
some copies of the oficial logo scattered here and there. I've done it with
3.1g, when public betas were still not available, and thus it was not at
all ready to include it with 3.5.

I've done later some atempts to migrate the scene to 3.5 syntax with the
first public beta, but the scene "suffered" a bit from the translation
(filtered textures). Then my windows partition decided it was not worth to
continue working on that scene, and I've lost all my windows data in a hard
disk crash. :( Fortunatelly that was the only important thing I had on that
partition....

Opps... now I read your post and it is very clear! I think we stoped
reading after "The pov splash..." . Sorry. :(

The script does exist, yet apparently not publicly since it doesn't seem to
be in the scen-files groups nor in the program distribution. Uses a certain
font not found with POV-Ray as well.
I'd e-mail it or post it myself but not knowing whether that is okay to do
or not... Maybe someone like Ken would know if that's possible. But I'd
think if it were then someone else would already have done so.

Thanks. I'll just have to build something myself. Well, onward and upward.
