The german computer magazine c't has printed a short article on Povray 3.5
in it's newest issue (24/01, p. 45)
It includes a render of ingo's GlassChess.pov (i suspect it's rendered
without aa) and a quite floppy text talking about 'raffinierte Texturen'
(sophisticated Textures) and other general things, surely not a Povray
user who wrote that. No word about isosurfaces for example, but better
than nothing. And there is reference of the article on povray.co.uk.
BTW congratulations to ingo, your picture got printed over 350000 times.
;-)

Yes, I saw it. it is small and I was actually surprised that they didn't
only put it in the web newsticker (which didn't have that article afaik)

Actually, don't they need permission to publish the picture?

I'm not reading the newsticker regularly, but i think people there would
not accept it as 'news' any more.

It does not seem expressively prohibited by Povlegal and i suspect
publishing samples coming with a software in a newspaper/magazine is
allowed by common sense, it's pretty much like printing a screenshot of a
program...

Open up MS Word and do:
http://www.povray.co.uk
Shift-Ctrl-F12 Enter
PS: make sure that there's paper in the printer and that the printer is
turned on:-)
PPS: Shift-Ctrl-F12 Enter is a lot more satifying that Ctrl-p Enter.

remember correctly they printed a small articel when 3.1 came out as well. And
C'T uses pov ase a benchmark test as well for testing the speed of CPU/MB etc.

Yes, i know. In 1996 they had a large section on version 3.0 and since
then it's always included on their yearly shareware/freeware CD, last time
they also put in megapov.
