Is there a way to automatically save the (entire!) message window
contents to a text file? Is it already saved somewhere by default?
I'm planning on rendering a series of files and want to compare the
results when they're done.

Hey, there was no mention of this anywhere on either of the three pages

Because you looked in the GUI information only. POV-Ray is not the Windows
GUI, POV-Ray is "just" a command-line program for which there is a Windows
GUI :-)
