Greetings and Salutations!

I've done my best to square away the documentation concerning the recent 
discussions about default sampling method etc ... but I need some of you 
folks who've been tracing longer than I have to verify or comment on the 
technical correctness of what I've come up with.

Starting here:

and continuing on to the next page with particular attention to sampling 
  parameters and methods section, should be the focus (but hey if you 
see ANYTHING else, by all means SPEAK UP!). Since methods 1 and 2 have 
been retained for legacy purposes I tried my best to refer to those in 
the past tense, and added a BE AWARE notation at the beginning of that 
passage in an attempt to make things as clear as possible.
