Greetings! I've been a POV user since 1994, although I've been on a three
hiatus. I can't get POV 3.5 to use photon maps. I've got the photon{} block
in global settings, and the proper photon{} blocks in the light_source, as
well as target keywords, etc as appropriate in the objects. I'm getting no
warnings or errors, it's simply skipping the photon step.

Can you reduce your code to a small scene file that demonstrates the
problem, and then show us?

I have this problem as well, with both 3.5 and 3.6. It doesn't happen all
the time, but once it starts all I can do is close POV and restart it to
build photon maps. When I reboot the problem goes away for a while and
then pops up again. Frustrating to say the least.
