There is new book available:
Physically Based Rendering
From Theory to Implementation
from Morgan Kaufmann. From the description:
>http://books.elsevier.com/us//mk/us/subindex.asp?maintarget=&isbn=&country=United+States&srccode=&ref=&subcode=&head=&pdf=&basiccode=&txtSearch=&SearchField=&operator=&order=&community=mk
it seems to cover almost every aspect of raytracing within >1000 pages.
I've ordered but not received it, so can't comment more about it, but
from reviews (and Pharr's previous articles) it seems to be book worth
to own (especially for these people, who'd like to start tinkering with
POV-Ray source code and need good tutorial). Amazon has it in preorder.
