I have known POV-Ray since late 1999.
In the years since then I must have been raytracing
more than 2000 images. (Yes, I know - I'm addicted.)
Yesterday I browsed through the images on my HD and
picked 120 of them that roughly represents what I
have been doing with POV-Ray through these years.
I have uploaded 87 of them to a web directory and I am
planning to upload the rest of them later.
Here's that directory:
http://home.online.no/~t-o-k/POV-Ray_Images/
Until I have made a html page with individual thumbnails
and links, these images will have to do as indexes.

Many of you have probably seen a some of these images
before. But I think that there are a few images in there
that I have not shown before.
All these images are made by scripting in POV-Ray, though
I have changed the colour tones in some of them with an
image editor.

Some very cool stuff in there. I remember a few of these from the
groups. The nurbs stuff, bicubic patch macros, and rounded CSG shapes
are the most interesting projects to me.

<prelease-advert>
The next MegaPOV*) most probably will have a patch to read size (in pixels) of
images which together with standard screen.inc could do this.

ABX
*) Do not ask when it will be ready, please.

IrfanView can do similar. Allows you to save thumbnails as one file.

20-20, another freeware or shareware editor will do it too, but allows
tagging HTML to any image. Haven't tried it, don't know how ugly the html
might be.

Some time ago I spent some more time on my NURBS macros,
but more work is needed before they are consistent and
"releasable". I plan to have support for univariate,
bivariate, trivariate and quadirvariate NURBS in 1D, 2D
and 3D (and maybe more dimensions).
In addition to the NURBS macros themselves, a lot of
helping macros are needed. E.g. to make knot vectors,
weight arrays and to draw control grids. I'm also
working on macors to modify control arrays for wrapping
around the borders of the meshes (I.e. smooth
transistion from one edge to another.) This will add
support for topologies like those on cylinders, tori
and spheres (maybe).
But this and other projects have to wait, because my
highest priority these days is to find myself a new job.

I used a program called ThumbsPlus v3.33 that came with a magazine I
once bought (PCPlus #182, autumn 2001). I think that the current
version of ThumbsPlus will have a be fully functional evaluation
period that lasts for some days (or weeks ?). See:
http://www.cerious.com
I guess that this search will lead you to other programs that can
do similar things:

=)
This image was my first step towards the "Almost Sphere Spirals"
image that ended up on the HOF page at povray.org.
The original version of this image had very boring colour tones,
so I inverted the colours and changed the hue (IIRC).
