Yesterday I sent the message below to povray.news-submissions,
but it hasn't got through yet.
Now I'm not even sure if it is "suited" for that group at all,
therefore I'm posting it here.
--------------------------------------------------------------
The April 2004 issue of the Linux Magazine has a review of
AC3D 4.0 over 3 pages.
This article is titled "The Third Dimension" and the author
is Frank Wieduwilt. Here AC3D is presented as a modeler for
POV-Ray.
At the end of the article there are some links to online
articles about POV-Ray (from past issues of L.M.):
http://www.linux-magazine.com/issue/16/POV-Ray.pdf
http://www.linux-magazine.com/issue/23/POV-Ray.pdf
(The issue 23 PDF-file seems to be broken, since it only
contains one single page with an unfinished sentence at
the bottom of the page.)
Btw.: AC3D is a commercial program; http://ac3d.org/linuxmag

I sent an email to the editor of the magazine about this.
And now I just checked my email and saw that he has had
this problem fixed.
It seems to be a an interesting article about Linux
"Front Ends" for POV-Ray.

But note although fairly nicely written it is both outdated (missing
newer tools like pyvon and qtpov) and incomplete (missing emacs pov-mode
which already existed back then).
