I've got a microphone that will plug into my computer and I'd like to
record some comments to add to an animation, but I don't have any
software to do it.

Could someone please point me towards some freeware or cheap-
ware to record some vocal tracks for an animation?

If you have a Sound Blaster card, try the recorder that came with it.
