Is there a library of electronic objects (resistors,
capacitors, vacuum tubes, etc) in POV format anywhere?
I'm specifically looking for a vacuum tube object,
but could probably use some random other things...

See also Andre Mecteau's image here:

No vacuum tubes though but I guess that foraging around the irtc should turn
up a couple of ones.

For an electronic valve (Tube) try
http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/electric.asp
http://www.3dcafe.com/models/tvtube.zip

another search site for models
http://www.web3d.org/vrml/vrml.htm

Resistors can be made with cylinders (as you know) and remember the colour code:
BBROYGBVGW
Black, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet, Grey and White

Hi
I made that in moray a few years ago
http://marc.jacquier.free.fr/CI_Nomades.htm
If you are interested, I can exhume some elements (resistors, capacitors)

Hmmmm...I could probably take that and slap the circuit
as-is a few places in my scene just to add to its clutter,
but other than that...would like something that looks more
antique.

I take it vacuum tubes aren't exactly common items for
people to pick up and model. :P

Right. I've got a box-full, but then, I'm old, wrinkly and peculiar
that way :)

I always intended to try one but (probably like everyone else) I've
always had something more important on my "must try this" list :-/

Just found an old 6Z4.gif, dated 1993, by Steve Anger on my HD. It
came from Compuserve. The source may be out there somewhere?

Alf

Aye, that's actually one of the first POV pics I downloaded, back
a few years...the source would be nice.

I like that. What is it, a power supply board?
