Does anyone have a heightfield of the
earth in its entity (only landmasses needed),
or know a functional link where I can down-
load it?
I've already downloaded some of the maps
from NASA, but I'm working on my
"reflective sphere on checkered plane" and
would like to create a fairly nice image of the
earth as the sphere...

PS: Can't find anything with google, though I
perhaps I don't have the correct words
for searching at hand (topography, heightfield,
earth, image, download)...

The Moray site has image amd Bump maps for the planets.

They ain't got the heightfield, just the "regular"
satellite photos. What I want is an image where
the highest peak of a mountain is colored white,
and the lowest point of earth colored black, and
in between all grays, you know?

Hm, thats a nice one, but if anyone got any bigger
resolution, I'd be interested. That one is 1024x512.
