I have been reading the 1989 Kajiya and Kay paper on render fur as a volume
and am comtemplating implementing it to some degree into Pov-Ray. It seems
grossly possible to fit it into Pov-Ray, but this may be a naive assumption,
not understanding (yet) the internal workings of Pov, nor having worked
through the details of the texel algorithm (yet). But wouldn't it be cool to
be able to render good-looking fur in Pov! Anyway, before I plunge in, has
anyone already beat me to it? Has anyone tried? Any suggestions on
implementation, or thoughts on snags I may find? Anyone want to help?
Jack

Do a search on 'fur' within these groups Jack. You're bound to
find something that you want to know. Good luck.
