Hi, all
   I am now reading a sample pov file ( \\ POV-Ray for Windows v3.5 \\
scenes \\ advanced \\ sunsethf.pov ). The following is a piece of code:
height_field {
   png "fract003.png"
   water_level 0.4

   pigment {
      image_map { png "fract003.png" }
      quick_color White
      rotate 90*x
      scale <320.0, 1.0, 200.0>
      translate <0.0, 0.0, -1.0>
   }

   scale <320, 256, 200>
   scale <2.0, 0.5, 2.0>
   translate <-160.0, -63.5, -100.0>
   rotate 10*y
   translate <-80.0, 0.0, -30.0>
}

I do not know what "rotate 90*x" means in pigment definition. I tried to
find in the help pages, but I did not find it. Could someone explain it to
me? Thanks

Best Regards
Wu Yang

You rotate a pattern in space. Simply see a pattern as infinitely many
points in space, which you can of course still rotate around the origin just
like you can rotate a single point.

Just that the height_field is done on the xy plane and the image_map is done
on the xz plane so it needs to be turned to meet the same plane.

I see it. Thank you very much.
I have another question. Looking at the following code please
// Define the ocean surface
plane { y, -10.0
   hollow on
   pigment { Aquamarine }
   normal {
      waves 0.06
      frequency 5000.0
      scale 1000.0
   }
   finish {
      ambient 0.1
      diffuse 0.1
      reflection 0.8
   }
}

I want to know where I can find the definition of the "Aquamarine". And also
where can I find some more definitions of this kind? What I need are lawn
and land. Thanks

Best Regards
Wu Yang

No, what you need (to do) is to read the documentation:

Most definitions are in .inc files. This one probably will be in colors.inc
or maybe textures*.inc

Btw. can You please answare below, not over meassages ?

Like - this is WRONG :
  I see...
  > ble, ble, ble
  > ble, ble, ble

And this is correct:
  > ble, ble, ble
  I see...

--
#macro g(U,V)(.4*abs(sin(9*sqrt(pow(x-U,2)+pow(y-V,2))))*pow(1-min(1,(sqrt(
pow(x-U,2)+pow(y-V,2))*.3)),2)+.9)#end#macro p(c)#if(c>1)#local l=mod(c,100
);g(2*div(l,10)-8,2*mod(l,10)-8)*p(div(c,100))#else 1#end#end light_source{
y 2}sphere{z*20 9pigment{function{p(26252423)*p(36455644)*p(66656463)}}}//M
