Does anyone know of a gradient editor that can output in pov's color_map
format? Or even just in an ASCII list of rgb values?

Thanks,

Andrew

Gimp has direct support for saving gradients in pov format.

There is also Gradient Thief
(http://www.kerlinsoftworks.com/products/gthief/gthief.html)a sort of
special purpose gradient tool. May or may not be appropriate depending on
what your need is.

Well, the version of MacMegaPOV with the unofficial GUI has a color map
editor. Probably not what you want, since it is Mac only...

Thanks for the replies - GIMP turned out to be exactly what I needed,
and probably a whole lot more besides.

I wonder if a gradient editor would be a useful addition to v4?

Well, it would be part of the/a front end rather than the application.
