Lately Outlook Express always download some Re: "blabla"
files, and the original posts that are referred to, don't show up.
When I go to the www-version of the newsgroups, they're
there, but Outlook somehow cannot find them.

Any clues?

I don't have this problem, but.. Are you sure, that your OE doesn't delete
messages when they are 30 days old or something like that? In this case,
the original posts will disappear but anyone who replies to them, are "new"
messages and will appear like "Re: blabla" on your screen.

If you want to see the old messages again, I think you have to empty the
cache, and reload those message headers. You also have to deactivate
automatical deletion of messages in the future, and ... keep the box from
growing too big, yourself.

(OE rules!! yEnc sucks!!)

Its not a problem with the 30-day limit (I've switched that one
off a long time ago), but this happens to me only recently with
very new threads. Is it already possible to post messages
with attachments via the web-interface? Perhaps that might
be the reason, but I expect something's wrong on my side,
or that some other, specific newsgroup programm OE can't
handle...

Tim, there's a link for an Outlook Express tutorial at
http://www.povray.org/resources/ - maybe it will be helpful to you.

That wasn't it, everything is set as described there.

Hm, I'll just try and reload the newsgroups...

I have had this problem a couple of times and the only way that I have been
able to get all the headers in this situation is to add a button for 'Get
Next Headers' to the toolbar and use that. The problem then goes away but it
can occasionally reappear. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the answers, I've reloaded the groups, and it
looks like that's working for now. I'll be checking if anything
strange appears again, and if so, where it originates...

Tim
