Now I want to know how to make the workspace bigger (i.e. more x,y
positions) rather than what increasing the resolution does i.e. makes the
entire image bigger. I don't want a bigger image of the object I already
have, I want more space to add more...

This question doesn't really make sense - you have (with some
qualifications) a near-infinite space to work in - it's just most of it will
be outside your image viewing boundaries.

To make any sense of your question, the only thing I can suggest is that you
try moving your camera further back or scaling your objects smaller?

Have a look in the docs to see what it says about the camera. If you were
taking a photo of ten people and you could only see seven of them in the
view finder you'd move backwards so that you could get more in, it's the
same with POV.

The introductory tutorials in the documentation (help) that comes with POV
are a great place to start and will teach you things like this.

Happy rendering.

Increase the angle value in the camera (although I suppose that what you
really want is the move the camera backwards from its current position;
increasing the camera angle makes perspective stronger, which is not very
nice when it's really strong).
