I was playing with multiple layers of clouds (boxes with bozo and
turbulence, various color maps) and ran into a problem where three or more
layers create black artifacts that do not create shadows.
I remember reading something to the effect that when light paths were
traced through multiple clear objects that they would only be calculated for
the first two or three and then truncated. What workaround is there for
this, as having three or four layers of pattern with a clear surrounding
might be useful?
Cheers!

Look in the help file for "max_trace_level".

Thanks, Bill. I wasn't sure what it was called.
Cheers!
