Some notes:
1. Since above link will be distributed over whole world and it will glory
power of pov-script then I think it could be worth to make proper html syntax.
Are you interested in help of somebody? Try to any html validator to find what
rules you break.
2. Is there something wrong with image "w42" ?

In particular, I got letters about a centimetre high when I loaded up
the page!

I think it's an abstract piece on the pointlessness of existence in an
uncaring world ;)

I think many of the warnings are a bunch of crap.

No, they are all caused by one wrong tag - you are misusing the "<kbd>" tag to
get some strange style-sheet like effect that is neither standard nor works on

It's not mainly about the warnings, it's about consistent and valid code.
If you know the basics about HTML it's no problem to find the few errors
without a validator in such a simple case. The current version has no
<html> and no <head>..</head>. Having a corresponding </p> for each <p>
would be a good idea although it's not required i think.

Given that both of those pages were designed many, many years ago when web
standards were not yet supported well, this is a really poor excuse.
Try it on the more "modern" pages like the news.povray.org welcome page:

ect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline>
(The other news.povray.org pages are valid, too, but protected and thus cannot
be validated by you easily without creating a copy and uploading that.)
