It's new for 3.5, but there was a way to fake it in 3.1 and there was an
implementation of it in MegaPOV as well.

I wonder if this is similar to the technique they used to render the portals
in Monsters, Inc. or if they used a completely different technique.  Well
anyway this feature could be used to do something like that.

Now that I think about it, they probably used some sort of portal rendering
technique to render the portals. :) How appropriate. ;)
