Hi all
I've been looking for a people include file for POV. All i've found so far
is Blobman and P4 when what i really want is poser quality stuff with
high-res image maps...alternatively is there a cheap(er) [ie
free]alternative to Poser? - I need my student loan to pay the course
fees...
If not is there a reduce_muscle_tone parameter in blobman?
Thanks
Jim

There's been a discussion about 'Blobman 5.0' here, but its main focuses are
oriented more towards convenience and 'tinkerability' than greater realism.
And no, there isn't really a free version of Poser out there, though there
was a POVer somewhere around here who has Poser 3.0 (full version, off a
magazine cover) on CD and, if I remember correctly, fairly willing to
distribute copies of it.

Not true, both of those two areas are in focus. However, I haven't heard
anything about the progress of the modeling/realism, so I don't know the
current status.

Try to see what the Poser 4 demo (www.curiouslabs.com) allows you to do.
It may have what you just need.

I doubt it. It's save-disabled, if I remember correctly, and it only comes
with one or two figures.

Well, Poser 3, full, has been on some magazine covers in the UK so you
might want to try to find a copy. You can probably find it online and
download it without breaching copyright laws, but I am not sure how
this applies in your country.

It was also packaged with 3DWorld in the US. Maybe ordering the relevent
back-issue would work.

You wouldn't happen to which? I've tried the future publishing web site here
in the UK, thinking it may have been on PC Format or Computer Arts etc but I
can't find it anywhere. Also web searches using google, yahoo don't help.
I downloaded the Poser 4 demo last week hoping that the save would still be
enabled (so I could pose the character, use it in the scene and be done with
it in 30 days) but it turns out to be a barely functioning demo.

I'm sorry, nothing on the faces yet, progress is slow and I wish I had more free
time.. :(
