hello,
can anyone tell me where i can get a freebie computer monitor
model, preferrably in pov format but in lieu of that, anything that
will convert using 3DWin.
i searched for a couple hours thru the links i got thru ken's links
on the pov site (using search keyword "models" and "monitor")
with no luck.
found some great stuff but no monitor.
thank you, miker

Also in www.3dcafe.com in one the free ware models section - don't
remember exactly which. Lots more free models there - in 3ds and dxf
format.

thanks ken and anoop,
i'm playing with the monitor ken pointed me towards in povworld
right now. i would imagine that some experts think its poor
practice for a newbie like myself to use others' models instead
of learning the program from the ground up.
however, i've found that looking at others' models is a good
way to learn new things. for example, the monitor that ken
pointed me to has a bitmap for OS/2 for the screen. LOL.
so i hacked on it and learned how to apply image maps.
the big problem i've had with 3ds format is that texturing and
colors are an important part of a model, and its something
that as a newbie, i'm not very good at, and all the 3ds files
convert with 3DWin sans texture and color, other than a uniform
gray. i understand that the textures will convert properly if i
used megapov.
thanks, miker
