If my memory serves, approximately ten years ago there was a file
posted to a Compuserve ray tracing forum named "peeper.pov"..

Does anyone know where this file is hiding now?

Does anyone else remember it? :-)

Thanks,

AF

I remember it. In fact I have a peeper.inc file (dated from 1994) in one of
my old povray directories but some of the files are now missing. It might be
on the old povray cd but I don't have time to look for it right now. I'll
take a look later today and if I find it I'll post a copy in the
povray.binaires.scene-files group for you.

Thanks. It needed semicolons added to the declares, but other than that it
rendered just fine. His work has held up well after all these years.

I just rendered it with POV-Ray v2.2 and didn't have to modify anything :~)

For 3.5 Windows version all I did was add
 #version 1.0
after the three #include statements at the top of the file and it
rendered.

It's a classic if nine years is enough to qualify :-)

Thanks again,

AF

Rendered fine in 3.5 with semi-colons.
Is that a phone number that is written in the bottom right corner of the
woman bitmap ???

Hmm.. 15secs @ 640*480 +a0.3 on my P4 2.8Gig - I wonder how many hours
that would take on a 386SX-20 (no floating point there) I had around
the time peeper.pov would have been posted.

Hi!

I once rendered skyvase.pov on a 386DX40 (without FPU) which took 29 hours
(and only 2.25 hours with an overclocked 33-MHz FPU)
Well, I only rendered the first half and guessed the rest by comparing times
and lines with my P90Mhz...
Now, you can approximate your time rendering skyvase - which will take some
5 seconds on your P4 2,8GHz...
Something like 100 hours for peeper...

Kalle
