Current versions : POV3.5, MegaPov : Mandrake 9.0 & Gentoo 1.3
Preference : Source distribution with a good .configure script
so the user can decide where the package will go and how
it is compiled, i.e. with/without graphics.
If you "have" to make a rpm version, please make sure
it installs in /usr/local
What do you mean by "support", it is for the executable only,
or also for the scripts to compute all images and animations ?

I am running Slackware 8.1. I have been running Linux since 1996, when I
started with Slackware 3.0. I started with POVRay 3.1 for Linux, and am
now running POV-Ray 3.5c for Linux.

Home made Linux distro (followed Linux from Scratch 3.0-pre4). Linux for
more than 4 years, this distro for 3.
Have used Povray on and off for at-least 5 years. Currently using v3.5

I've previously installed POV-Ray 3.5 on Mandrake 9.0, and on Debian
6-0r01 (?). About to reinstall Mandrake 9.1 on a P3 600mhz 512 ram and
will then use POV-Ray 3.5 (povlinux.tgz) in combination with Pyvon, will
try to install MegaPov 1.0 too.
POV user since 1999. Linux user for a couple of months.
