As You can see - post below has binary attachment (but mostly grups
*.binary.* are for them)
--
#macro g(U,V)(.4*abs(sin(9*sqrt(pow(x-U,2)+pow(y-V,2))))*pow(1-min(1,(sqrt(
pow(x-U,2)+pow(y-V,2))*.3)),2)+.9)#end#macro p(c)#if(c>1)#local l=mod(c,100
);g(2*div(l,10)-8,2*mod(l,10)-8)*p(div(c,100))#else 1#end#end light_source{
y 2}sphere{z*20 9pigment{function{p(26252423)*p(36455644)*p(66656463)}}}//M

It can reject messages, but new users trying this would never know why their
posting failed. NNTP does not allow very informative feedback that is
guaranteed to be displayed on the poster's system.

And what has your cryptic reply to do with John's question?

I assumed that he is asking about news.povray.org not about news://
generaly, so I told that povray.binaries.* and even all povray.* groups -
don't reject binary attachments.

Well, the limitations of news.povray.org in regard to filtering such
messages are the same as with all others newsservers. For a newsserver the
content does not matter, it is treated transparently as part of the message.
The only way to reject posts is by using content size limits or message
filters usually intended for spam.

PS: While John does not visit this server every day, he is still on
"oldtimer" on this server and knows the guidelines :-)

When will we be able to post attatchments via the web interface? I'd like to
be able to, seeing as I don't have access to the regular news server from
uni.
