Pattern changes in final release? (Message 1 to 6 of 6)

No bug report, but a simple question:
I've been using a pigment-pattern as function for a
heightfield. When tracing with RC6, the heightfield
is a different one than the final release generates.
It doesn't matter much, I wasn't building any scenes
with it yet, I'm just curious, what's the cause?

The default of the noise_generator has changed from 3 to 2.

Really? I must have missed something. Why is this?

Actually, I think I prefer 2, personally. 3 seems to have a much more
noticeable square pattern to it than 1 and 2 do.

First you ask and then you answer... You left us nothing to do. ;)

Haha, i see, so that's the reason then? Was there a discussion about this on
these newsgroups?

I've been playing warcraft 3 for the past week so if there was I probably
missed it =)

I do remember the one conversation about the artifact in the noise patterns,
but looking at that now I don't see any mention of the change.

It was discussed, but not publicly.
