This condition has been met. There is amazing QUALITY but not yet a
CD's worth of QUANTITY. (Again, the kinds of things that have been
beaten out of the bushes affirm IMHO my vision for this project!)

So I'm putting November 30th on the web page; I hope that folks who
uploaded October 1st aren't offended.

That's good from my viewpoint, I was too involved with running the beta of
3.5 all this time and still can't get a render I like out of it because of
the many things different from 3.1. But then I didn't want to use 3.1.
Couldn't even say I'll have anything to upload before November 30th either,
just going to try.

I think it would be good to mark this as the definite deadline then (and
maybe print it larger) Writing that the period is likely to be extended is
not a very good argument for people to submit soon.

There is also the danger of the material getting outdated and people
loosing interest in the project if it takes too much time. Together with
planning it's now running for more than a year, it should come to an end
soon.

Getting the CD finished by christmas is probably an unrealistic idea, but
it would be really nice if a content preview is available on the net by
the end of the year.

You must have your images in already...

I just spent all my available POV time going through and trying to bring
about 8 files up to compliance with the newer versions of POV. I ended up
producing -zero- images (Halos seem to be my major problem right now). I
will have to wait until tonight or tomorrow to start anything rendering. At
this rate, if nothing like going to the hospital happens and if I don't get
distracted... I might have 6-10 images that I can post...

I was in a hurry too getting at least some of my submissions rerendered,
but anyway i mostly took renders i already had. Most of my scenes are
that slow that it would occupy my computer for weeks to render them all.
NTL i only made 8 submissions until now (including something for the cover
image contest) so there is room left for further pictures.

BTW i think there's nothing wrong rendering a scene with Povray 3.0 if
it's made for it. I still have a version of it installed although i just
saw it's no more functional...

It is probably still functional. Just the editor won't open scenes
and allow you to edit them. The rendering engine works fine. At
least that is the situation here.

For the record, I think it would be cool to have some DBK, Pov 1.0 pictures,

When I did a recent backup and format, I only saved the script files. No
images. Turns out this was a mistake, because although I rarely use image
maps of HFs, on some of my best images I did use them as a background or
something.

Anyway, it is rework and rerender for anything older than a couple of
months.
