The POV-Ray Book Project (http://www.povworld.de/book/) is getting going
again, and we are seeking tutorials to fill in the slots of POV-Ray
knowledge.

You can see the partial list of tutorials at
http://www.povworld.de/book/tutorial.html

We are looking for tutorials on not just using the POV-Ray program on
different platforms and describing how to use the POV-Ray language, but
specific items as well that include using DEM height fields in POV-Ray,
making Panoramas and VR Objects, and making specific theme style shots,
like creating different skies and sunsets.

Please view the list above, and if you have a tutorial (or want to write
one, write it and tell us about it!) you think will fit the categories,
let us know. If you have a really cool tutorial and want us to consider
it for a slot we haven't listed, let us know about those too.

Our email address is pov### [at] hotmailcom

We have looked at several sites already and should be contacting those
authors about including (and possible editing) their work for the book.

I think you might want something along the lines of "special effects." I'm
not an expert on the subject, but have been using normals in camera
statements, and other such tricks. You can also throw a "filter" on the
camera by putting a semi-transparent box in front of it; would you think
that's blatantly obvious or is it something to consider?

I also complete all my animations in Adobe Premiere, where I add my own
music. What about extending POV output into other "platforms" or
environments? There are also lots of tricks that relate to different video
hardware that could be useful to some folks.

I have been working on developing something to that effect for the past two
years, obviously I haven't got a lot of progress on it, but I did manage to
fake a James Bond Movie Intro effect with the barrel and the blood. It was
only limited to the perspective camera unfortunately. If you've got some
solid material, write it up and please submit it. We are looking at having a
section of some sort of "special effect" but we have yet to define what that
means for us.

If you have a tutorial on organizing this, we will consider it, but we might
have to take consideration of the copyrights and trademarks of the Adobe
corporation.
