Hello all folks.
one of my favourite points (of vision) in POV is the extensible texture
possibilities it has, so here I go with a little query. I'd like you all
to post _your_ "favourite" texture in a simple image in p-b-i. I know,
there isn't really a possibility to have one(or is there?) but take one
that you have something 'extra' for. some nifty quirk somwhere, a pure
stunning mesh of madness, or anything else. Set it in something
simple(just enough to show off that special thing with it) and share.
I have mine here somewhere, but I am waiting to get my cd-rom to work
again so I can access the backups.
Share and enjoy ;)

The texture that I like the most is the floor texture in:
http://www.cs.tut.fi/~warp/tnt/Detonaattori.jpg
(the floor is just a plane).
It's one of the best textures I have ever managed to get.

My favourite is usually the one I'm working on. I suppose if I had to
pick an absolute favourite it would have to be the slab texture I made when
playing around with texture_maps - I had a idea of what I wanted, I had an
idea of how to do it, and, though it's not perfect, it all pulled together
and worked. I guess it's a much the 'way cool, I can do all sorts of things
with this technique' feeling it gave me as anything about the texture that
makes it my favourite. Anyhow, I've gone onto develop the technique further,
with some good results and some bad and I'll probably return to the slabs
and redo the texture, but for now, take a look in p.b.i for the post titled
"my favourite slab texture".

A bit of advice...
When a hovering mirrored sphere starts following you around, don't
bother trying to hit it with something. All that will do is make people
look at you funny.

I don't allow myself to go into the housewares section of department stores
anymore. The crystalware talks to me and won't let me out until I have heard
each and everyone of them. Chrome bumpers on cars are becoming a problem
too <sigh>.

NO! BAD IDEA! The sphere will shatter and cause a break-down of the
space-time continuum and you will be sucked into another dimension where
there is a green wireframe grid as the ground and even more horrid
raytraced primitives. Just whatever you do don't poke the floor with a cone
as it is quite delicate.
