Well, as you can see from the subject, I'm back.

good things in the life of Twyst(tm):

1. I won't be losing my server space
2. I won't be losing a place to live, and my internet connection.
(which was the trouble alluded to in the last post on twysted.net)

Anyways, I'm going to be around a lot more, and maybe get into using povray
more.

Some thoughts I had.

My site: does anyone care? Should I attempt a third revision, or just axe it
completely?

-if I should do a revision, what would you like to see?
(go nuts here, if you, for some reason, want a include file collection, etc,
let me know)

-Later on, I'm thinking about doing webhosting for Pov
users/programmers/artists.

Also, bear in mind, that it IS a lot of work to do by myself. If you want to
write articles, or tutorials, etc, let me know.

I think that most people would agree with me in saying that it's been great
while it's been there and it would be great if it were there again :)

By the way, should this be moved to povray.off-topic or is this on topic?

I would say that people care, the macro collection alone is useful.
Maybe more people need to know about it, but a few announcements in
these newsgroups should fix that.

Well, a functional tips and tricks section would be nice, although the
section I have on my page only has one entry. :-)

Sounds interesting, although I already have a web page. Not much of
one, but I am working on that. :-)

Hrm, maybe I could do a short tutorial on loops and macros, or maybe
media. Or something on writing POV patches. Or some short reviews of
Mac utilities. It might be a while, though...

And I could help write some about writing macros, proper indention, and other
programmer-esqe stuff

worked out.

Who doesn't? It took me a while to get used to *not* having you around. Your
site is needed. It helped keep all those stray patches together in one spot.

I liked the look you were last working on. You know, the blue one. All you
need to do is expand it. Put the PatchStation back in, and what the hey,
toss in a chat room.

I think it would be nice if you webhosted for programmers only, real
contributors, and provided links to noted artists. Oh, and of course, if you
could provide space for #include/#macro file authors, that would be great as
well. What I'm getting at is that your site should be a central place for
POVers.

If I ever get to do something as nice as my recent clouds, I'd be willing to
post sources. Perhaps when YAHI is done...

Well, I have a new idea. I still like blue, tho. =P

Also, I don't really have need of doing a java-style chatroom, since I'm on
IRC almost 24/7 (if I'm not, my IRC client is.) I personally reccomend IRC
as the #1 time-wasting tool. =P I know a few regular posters are on IRC
fairly often as well: Chris Huff, Jon A. Cruz, Ron Parker, and a few others.

Well, that's going to have to wait until I get a better server - right now,
it's only on a cable modem , and the bandwidth restrictions are harsh.


and now for my terrible secret: I haven't used povray in better than 6
months, and I probably won't again. It's not efficient for graphic and
webdesign. I still whole-heartedly support it, but it's just too time
consuming for me. I still tell people about, and promote it everywhere, and
I can still code in it.... but I don't actually use it.  =/

"Only" a cable modem? Oh, well. I hope we get "better" soon.

It doesn't matter if you haven't used it in a while, you can still get back
into the swing of things. Why don't you want to use it again?

Well, when I have a deadline, it's hard to use it quickly, and merging a 3d
image with 2d images isn't the most fun, either.
Not to mention the whole "code. Render. sigh. recode. rerender. sigh again."

I mainly use Adobe Photoshop for my work, since 90 % of it is 2D.
