I've got free Digital Elevation Data for the Earth
(for heightfields etc) in both 8bit and 16 bit formats
ranging from:
 - 360x180 degrees  (1 datapoint/square degree) to
 - 4320x2160 ( 12*12 == 144 datapoints/square degree)

I was unable to extract the 16 bit ones. I was able to extract the 8 bit
ones just fine. Could you perhaps make them available in ZIP or
preferably RAR format? Thank you.

Thanks for the linking to this. I see great potential in it for use in
making my "World of Pov-Ray Users" renders and web page. The Earth image
if similar to what I already use (but I lost it's origination and have
been wanting to credit the creators), the same with different resolution
I mean, it may not fit right either (I have had to add space into the
image I have now to get points plotted correctly). Can't wait to see how
this other one looks.
Great set of DEMs you have there too, could be (will be) very useful.
Btw, I was under the impression that Living Earth was not reproduceable
for use on the web. Will look into it.
