I have to say I was very impressed by the texture library on POV-Ray's site.

This library is very comprehensive, it shows you every single texture defined in all
default inclide files in
POV-Ray as well as some user/product specific include files.

It would benefit in some cases of having a different background, but that would be
replicating the effort
already put in it, which - I can only guess - must have been tremendous.

If you haven't yet, be sure you have a look at :

it really is worth a serious peep and a big bravo.
I browsed all 154 texture pages ... took me quite some time, and I was only flicking
through them. The
author (not me I'm afraid) also has a nice gallery, if you have some more spare time
after you've gone
through the textures, go there ... from the links page.
