Running Windows 8.1 and Pov-Ray 3.7, render output is bmp and +D set

the render window can be hidden and recovered by:
 1) hide , show - as it should
 2) hitting the windows x and show or running a fresh render acts correctly

but when hitting the windows minimize the render window is not recoverable even
with a fresh render. Resolution is to exit and restart Pov-Ray to re-establish
the render window

What exactly do you mean by "not recoverable"?

With Windows 7, all you need to to to recover the window is to hit the
"restore" button in the title bar.

It is perfectly normal behaviour that starting a new render does not
change the render window size (whether it is minimized, maximized, or
dragged to some odd size by the user), unless you specify a different
image size for the render (in that case the render window is closed, and
re-opened at standard size).

David,
I had the same problem and finally found the minimized window in the lower left
of the screen disguised as part of the lower status bar. Drag it out of there
and put it where you can find it.

Thanks, I tried finding the window but either my screen resolution or Windows 8
desktop control masks it.

I found a simpler solution for those suffering from the same issues.
Minimize the Pov_Ray program itself and then restore the program and BOTH are
returned to the screen.
