I noticed that after repeatedly enabling and disabling the +C command 
line option, the render window disappears.

There's no way to make the window reappear except restarting POV-Ray. 
The window does not show up in the taskbar either. It does not seem to 
affect the actual render process. POV-Ray will continue to work even 
without the render window being present.

I'm not sure exactly how to reproduce the error.

Same experience here! Me, too.

I sometimes minimize POV-Ray, and when maximizing it again, whoops - the
render window is back. ;-)

But sometimes, when often stopping and restarting a render entirely, all
render-related buttons are disabled - I cannot start a new render
anymore with - indeed - restarting POV-Ray. I call this bug the
"Uncertain POV User Bug" as it seems to punish those who stop and start
renders often... :-D
