Hi,
The big buttons (new, open, save, ...) don't refresh properly
under windows 98 (at least on my machine :-) If I move the
mouse over a button or minimize/restore everything is fine.
Not a big thing, but if anyone else sees it you might want to
fiddle with it for 3.1f.

Just to balance things, my toolbar buttons refresh fine on my win95
system... :)

Any problems of this sort would be Microsoft's domain - we just use their
common control DLL for these buttons. The drawing code is out of our control.
Given that it doesn't happen to everyone, it could be a problem with a specific
version of comctl32.dll.

I just found that a ctl3d32.dll I had was causing an error message with
the Unvise uninstaller when removing POV-Ray for Windows 3.1d before
installation of the latest 3.1e. Told me it was the NT version of this
particular dll, yet I could continue if I Ctrl-Alt-Del keyed out of the
error. I found another ctl3d32.dll elsewhere on my drive and replaced
the "NT" one in Windows\System folder. No error then.
Curious since the Windows version is supposed to go onto a NT system,
right? The other dll was not in Windows\System before, obviously, but
suppose the version difference caused some confusion in there someplace.
Btw, it was a freeze-up too, not a mere error message.
Just thought I'd mention this here due to that other dll being brought
up.

The version of ctl3d32 that comes with IE5 causes this. I thought
it was supposed to be fixed before they released IE5. I guess not. :)

It's strange because they work just fine in my win98 (perhaps the reason
is that I bought it about a month ago).

Yes, I've confirmed this (tried it at work on an IE5-infect^H^H^H^H-equipped
machine. It did exactly what has been reported. I also hear that Paint Shop Pro
has had similar problems.
In the case of POVWIN, at least for me, miniminizing then restoring it seems to
solve the problem in a jiffy, though you have to do this each time you run it.
