Note from A.K. - This is one of at least three reports I've seen about this
alleged bug. I cannot, however, duplicate it on my system (Windows 95,
Pentium 200MMX, 64mb, POVWin v3.1a).

In case this might help you as far as how many people are experiencing
similar problems let me add to the above.

I too have had a several problems (minor as they are) with CMAX101.DLL
file errors. In all cases they are related to read of addresses ( which
I attribute to the fact I usualy have several files open in the editor at
once). There is nothing I can do to duplicate them and different things
happen at different times.
Sometimes I lose all of my user settings at program start up, sometimes
I get a read error when trying to scroll up or down in the editor window.
Other times the program crashes or I get a program lock up and have to
use task manager to quit the program. On rare occassions I get a start up
CMAX101.DLL read of address error(s) warning and then Pov won't start at all.
Subsequent attempts at starting the program prove unsuccesful and the system
requires a full reboot to obtain functionality again.

As I see it the CMAX101.DLL file is a little buggy but not crippled.

Windows 98, Pentium 200MMX, 128mb, POVWin v3.1a.

Only 3 reports of this "keyboard tab" bug?
I thought it was rampant on most everyones P-R 3.1 and simply didn't see
fit to add my case in as well to what I thought were *all the others*.
So hey, add me in as number 4...

Win95 OSR2, IE4.01 SP1, 3.1.watcom.win32.r1, 233MMX Intel Pentium,
64Megs 66MHz SDRAM.

Keyboard tab then Misc tab caused:

Access violation at address 00E9858B in module 'CMAX101.DLL'. Read of
address FFFFFFFF

PVENGINE caused an invalid page fault in
module CMAX101.DLL at 0157:00e98ccd.
Registers:
EAX=00000000 CS=0157 EIP=00e98ccd EFLGS=00010202

Bytes at CS:EIP:

Note that there is some deviation in addresses.
The same number shows up every time, I always see 0157: at the beginning
of the cmax101.dll error; and this other report shows this to be 014f:

That is the problem - some people can reproduce this bug but others cannot
repeat the trick at will. I can't make my system reproduce this bug at all
(and I suppose I should count my blessings).

Please see also Barry Allyn's post in povray.windows. He is the CodeMax
author. Let's see if we can cooperate with Barry and get to the bottom of
this bug. Thanks, Ken.
