Currently holds 186 IOR-values and 59 dispersion values. This update and
cleanup was done on May 23. 2000. The list may have various IOR for the same
substance, that is because I have found different values in different sources,
or it's for different wavelengths. Also, some minerals do not have the same
crystal structure or symmetry in all the directions, and therefore have
different IOR's for different axis of symmetry.
Has added dispersion-values for some of the minerals where I have the IOR for
red and violet to complement Daren Scot Wilson's Dispersion feature in
MegaPOV. It is as of now only of use with MegaPOV, but it should hopefully
come in the 3.5 version of POV-Ray. Those values are at the end of the file.
Now, if we could only get birefringence too so we could create true double
refraction...
