AutoCAD2POV exports AutoCAD drawings to POV.  It converts native AutoCAD
entities and introduces two new basic objects to AutoCAD: a POV solid object
(an extension of the AutoCAD native solid object), and a POV light object
(this includes all variations of the POV light).  Here is a list of some of
the features of AutoCAD2POV 4.0:

Version 4.0 is now completely written in C++ with ObjectARX (AutoCAD's API,
it simply amazing what they let you do), so it is much faster and stable
than the last hybrid version.  That also means:
AutoCAD native interface, i.e. it is no longer necessary to export to DXF
and then start an external application to convert from DXF to POV.  The
project can be saved directly to POV from AutoCAD.

Export of solid objects *NOT* created with AutoCAD2POV.  These objects will
be exported as smooth meshes.

Fewer commands.  Instead of being required to use AutoCAD2POV commands such
as punion, pslice, pmove, protate, etc..., native AutoCAD commands can be
used on all objects, native and custom POV.

Custom POV light objects and lighting editor.  This includes point lights,
spotlights and cylinder lights with all options available in POV-Ray (area,
parallel, etc...).

There is no camera to place.  The current AutoCAD view is exported as the
camera, either orthographic or perspective.

No more confusing coordinate system translating.  Everything is done in
AutoCAD's right-handed coordinate system (see manual for the two
exceptions).

International support.  This release will work on all language versions of
AutoCAD without modification.  Everything's still in english, but all the
commands will work regardless.

*What's Coming in 4.1*

Version 4.0 is not completely finished yet, but I was hoping to get some
feedback as development continues.  Here's some features that are planned
but have not been implemented yet:

.inc import (for textures)

global scene editor (photons, radiosity, media, etc...)

solid object editor (photons, media, interior, etc...)

camera and object animation with keyframes and/or animation path controllers

I will see if I can test it this weekend and post the results in the 
.images group. It will be good to compare some POV radiosity against the 
architectural work I have been doing this week in Virtual Light.

Thoroughly welcomed; I think, this was the one feature that really prevented
me from exploring it as much as I'd liked to ;-)

 tried to download it several times, but the asp download page seems to be
