Hi all,

I downloaded a model of a dirt mover from 3DCafe. The file is in COB format.
What is a COB file and how do I convert it so that I can import it into POV?

Thanks

Reuben

Try this conversion program. It should be able to convert it to a
a traingle mesh for you.

I also found that if you use crosswinds to a RAW format, you can use
"Triangles" (a DOS program) to covert the RAW file to a smooth triangle
mesh!

Enjoy,

Then again you simply instruct Crossroads to do it for you. It is
a built in feature and would decrease the number of steps necessary
to accomplish the same thing.

Load an object.

Click on that object or you can select multiple objects if they
exist (their color will change when selected). You can also
"select all" from the edit menu or by right clicking on the
work screen.

Right click on the work screen.

You should now see a menu with various options including the
smooth option.

Select it for that object(s).

When exporting it will automatically create smooth triangles
for the mesh object it creates.

Cheers,
